WAYLAND
On a sunny acreage in a picturesque valley this home
was surrounded by a fresh water creek. The brief was
to lift the home 1.5m as it was in a flood plain.
By lifting the home to 2.1mt we gained car parking
and laundry space and were able to conceal the homes
utility needs beneath.
The young couple’s needs were simple, so the
reallocation of rooms within the existing footprint
of the home was sufficient and by increasing the external
living with covered decks and the use of cedar cladding,
gave a lovely county charm.
The beautiful acreage created the perfect environment
for the Cedar clad cottage with a hexagon shaped entertaining
deck facing north.
